60 gears in a 40 case? (1 Viewer)

I've done quite a bit of searching, and from what I gather a t-case out of an 84 FJ60 could be run in a 40 but would require driveshaft and parking brake mods. I couldn't find any info about the gears themselves, specifically the hispeed output gear and the transfer sleeve are the two parts I'm in need of. Are the gears between the two compatible, or do I need to keep looking for some 40 gears? Thanks, Jason

You will need to use a 19 spline transmission in front of your transfer case from the 60 series. If the 40 series has the 08/80 and later four speed, you will be fine. If not, you will need to find one to make the split case work in the 40 series.

You cannot install the split case gear set into the one piece transfer case.
