How much is their adapter? Any other info on it? Does it work on the gm output? I didn't see anyone making this other than advanced when I last looked and it was for the 60 case. I do have 2 full time cases so that wouldn't be too bad. I just couldn't see spending 1500 bucks on an adapter set and I can make driveshafts and gas tanks in house. I know there's a lot more too it.

150hp.... Glad to give you some joy in life.

150 hp? Lol

It's the rating of the 6.2 with the military (J?) intake. Otherwise it's 135hp.
But them's Diesel hp. I've been told they're, like, at least twice as valuable as gasoline hp's. :)

The old chevy was used to move non running or "stuck in the back field" tractor trailers at a Hanover pa plant. It should be an improvement in power and a big improvement in mileage with the 5 spd. I have a friend that pulled 28.5 mpg towing two bikes out west in his 6.2 Burb with a 700r4 the sidewinder kit.

I'm from the Chevy world, and contemplated a 6.2 diesel/SM465 swap, mostly for the "stone-cold reliable" rep of that engine. But then the "If it ain't broke..." logic got in the way...

Got it. It even came with a new clutch for the donor truck. 135k on the trans.

i feel the same way... i have a 22k 6.2 and most of the other big parts to do a swap in my 80... just can't seem to make myself do it when the straight 6 runs so good...

No idea you will need to contact him, its not listed on his site as well. He goes my 69Rambler on here.

Not sure why this uploads pics one at a time and upside down...

I had a 1984 c1500 that religiously got 28 mpg with the 6.2 (j intake) and all the emissions crap gone. There's a website I subscribed to called The Diesel Page. It has been a number of years but those guys (and Robin) never steered me wrong. You can really make the 6.2 into a very reliable mechanical marvel. Best of luck and take LOTS of pictures so I can do the same thing.

Comet.

sent from space or some crap like that.

Will do. I've heard that about the 6.2s mpg from a few reliable people. That's also one pull for the part time 4x4 tcase.

Pics will continue...

The 4500 looks so little out of the truck. I plan to drive the cruiser till I have every part I think I need then dissect it and gather what I forgot. I still need to find a radiator that works and decide if I need to go serpentine belt.... I mean I want to, but I haven't found a setup for a price I'm willing to pay.

My uncle/cousin have a line machine to bend and form any metal line from ac to power steering to cooling so I have that pretty covered. I'd like to use the cruiser ac and maybe go one wire gm alt.

I don't have much to do for electrical with this setup so it's mostly just going I be fab work. I plan to build my crossmember and motor mounts and the rest should be pretty easy, but time consuming. We'll see. It's not my first rodeo, but I've never swapped a cruiser or messed with the 4wd to this extent.

Well, it's a no go for the tcase adapter from diesel adapters. Theirs works with dodge outputs and they can only be swapped with the 96+ gm nv4500 from what I can see. His price was around 750 which would be good, but after all the rest of the extras, it adds up.

As of now, I'm going with a gm drivetrain mated to 80 axles. I'm up for a challenge.

The 150 HP was just to much to handle! LOL

My 6.2 is 165 HP and 330 ftlbs torque (military spec). Moves along better than the 4.5. Turbo will come shortly.
