Dropped the 0W-20 at a 4700 mile interval (total mileage is ~14k) and refilled it with 5-30 Mobil1 (the black and gray label guaranteed for 10,000 miles).

Very noticeable difference. No shaking at start up, didn’t notice any stumbling idle, less shakey when accelerating. Only put around 20 miles on it, some highway and some city.

I swapped in 5-30 at 800 miles. Engine does idle quieter.

The pronounced shimmy feeling while mildly accelerating is hardly noticeable now.

Is there any downside to swapping out to 5w-30? I assume longevity and protection will be improved. Is the 0w-20 just a fuel efficiency play?

Does it void warranty?

Its an MPG play.

I don’t see how running smoother can void the warranty. I may even mix some 10-40 in next summer.

I do my own maintenance typically.

I just do it myself. Going to do the oil/filter every 10,000 miles with a 7qt oil change at 5,000. I plan to change the skidplate on the next oil/filter change.

You can enter it on Carfax yourself. Note ‘Mobile1 oil and Toyota/Lexus filter’

Just saw both vids. Not sure if everyone saw this. I know majority of the discussion is about GM but they made some good points.

Nice, watched both.

The difference between 0w-30 and 5w-30 is extra polymers in the 0w that expand when heated up. Same with 5W-30 to 10W-30.

Since the owners manual in different countries recommends 5w-30 as a choice in climates like mine I will stick to that. 0W-30 may work in colder climates. Edit the video said the first number is the most important when considering a change.
