so I got the lift delivered. thought, screw it, I'll pay someone to do it. $500 for labor...and they can't do it until mid week. I need to get this FJC on the market. so I started yesterday at noon. stopped just after dark with the Driver rear corner left and the diff drop. finished up today by noon after 3.5 hours. front is Fat Bob's Garage 3" adjustable and SPC adjustable Upper Control Arm(UCA). rear is 2.5-3" OME with Toytech shocks.

stock first-

mid job in the rear. then the diff drop before then after. not a huge difference, but should help with those angles.

then after...it should settle a lot. measurement of front tire to fender before and after shows 4" of lift. rears show 2.5-2.75". front bumper is up 5" and rear is up 2". center of frame is up 3".

for a closer comparison before and after. next up is swapping the 285 mud tires from the FJC over, an alignment job, then a wash and detail for the FJC to put it up for sale!

That stance is going to be great with a larger tire in those wells.

the Duratracs have a great treaded side wall too that will look mean!

I bought spring compressors if anyone needs to borrow them.

I'm sore as hell now too. back, knees, elbows. legs and calves are sore. this getting old thing is rough!

Nice! a whole bunch of new armor will help those springs settle... just saying...
Yep, in true HDC fashion we are spending Shawn's money.

I see what's happening here...
I do want to get the spare up onto a swing out, but don't like the look of the bumpers I've seen. the body lines on these are weird and tough to add bumpers without removing the whole panel. I love the front end look without the bumper. maybe the center piece bumper only. I'm thinking about the rear. I'm sure someone will find something that fits the bill that I will have to have.

I'm looking into bumpers too. I like the look of the CBI front bumper, it's not as bulky as the ARB even though there's only a 9 lb difference. It does look like you have remove a portion of the stock bumper, but it's the same with ARB. Not that I know very much about this, but if you don't want to remove any part of the bumper, it sounds like a custom fabrication job is in your future.

I talked with pelfreybilt at an Overland expo a while ago... I really liked their stuff, had to doubletake their front from stock, not cheap.

I think i'll just do a hidden winch in the stock bumper and see how long it takes to rip them off if I start getting carried away.

I've noticed that hidden winch mounts have become popular with the Taco/4R crowd.

Don't do Pelfrey! They have gone bankrupt and taken many customers money and supplied no product. Last I heard they filed bankruptcy and continued to charge peoples credit cards. Buyer beware!!

oh man, that is too bad! I was unaware.

Shawn, how much are you wanting for the FJC. I'm looking to get a third vehicle for Danise and the kids to drive. It needs to be AWD or 4WD since we are moving to Sandi Park next year. I want it to get a little better MPG than the 100 and I want them to stop driving the 100 to keep it safe and live a long life. Looking at GX and mid-2000s 4Runners too. I think an AWD cute ute would be a more practical choice but Danise likes driving in a real SUV, not a station wagon on steroids. And they don't drive enough miles for the poor fuel economy to matter.

Marc, pm is sent.

bumpers. I like the front grill and fog lights look. was thinking the hidden winch idea, like this-

what I don't want is to lose the front end look like this-

you can see how the body lines are not straight around the rear either.

this leads to rear bumpers like these for over $3k-

this is a little closer to what I can deal with, but am looking to get or make something that follows the lower quarter line-
