This is a shout out to the other tpi / 350 chevy owners. My 5.7 falls on it face after 3200 RPM. I've upgraded the injectors (were definately wrong) replaced the fj62 in tank fuel pump with a high volume unit. NOTHING has helped. I checked the spec's on engine (po bought a crate motor) and I should get a solid 240hp with even a TBI unit. Doesn't matter what gear I'm in, 3200 just doesn't go anymore. Any suggestions? Can the computer be that messed up? I was thinking about a new chip with a custom tune and am looking at a couple of local shops to check out. Also thinking about putting it on a dyno to see IF I'm really getting all the ponies or if I'm expecting too much. Have had 350's before, pulled crazy strong to 5k plus. :crybaby:

Fuel pressure regulator need a good vacuum input. Are you running a MAF or a speed density system?

Dynosoar

make sure the speed sensor is hooked up, this could make the problem happen. also, when you say you replaced the fuel pump with a high volume unit, what do you mean? the reason I ask is that the TPI motor needs a fuel pump that puts out a constant 45psi. a regular TBI or carb pump will not work. It must be a high pressure unit. you can get a very good inline high pressure unit from howell at www.howell-efi.com

here it is: Howell Engine Developments Inc. - TPI Fuel Pump

I also had my ECM (computer) reprogramed for the specs of my rig by Fuel Injection SPecialties in Texas.

Did it run good before or is this a new install. I would replace the fuel filer to start with. You talking about a tune port motor right?

fuel pump

Dynapex 300lph 43.5 psi fuel pump. Am I screwed because its a 43.5 and I wasted my money? Its was rated for the TPI system. I will have to check the other stuff. I think its a MAF system. It has always done this from word one. None of the changes have made a difference. The fuel filter was my next stop. :confused:

Would it be staying in closed loops due to missing sensor, or poor reprogramming? And thus choking the motor? What kind of gas milage do you get?

Is the CEL activated?

huh

CEL??? wtf is that. kinda a newbie with this tpi stuff, still learning. Should be receiving a set of dvd's from tpi supplier, have to check them to see if hints there for install and checkout.

Milage around town is 13 on hwy 18 but also have AA Overdrive of 27% so hwy ratio is like 2.70:1. :bang:

CEL=check egnine light

I know most TBI systems sign off at around 4000-4500 rpm... your stock "chip" might not like those new injectors....

here's a good link for TBI stuff:

TBI CHIPS

Don't know if that will be pertainent, I have TPI not TBI. It could well be a chip thing. Just trying to run down the simple shxx first.:idea:
