Anybody know of a install doc? Tips or tricks? I'm struggling with the passenger side specifically.

Thanks in advance!

I have some on order so feel free to document things as you go so I have somewhere to fall back on..:flipoff2:

What, specifically, are you struggling with?

Getting the 2 loose cat brackets into position to bolt up.

If it’s 95-97, then loosen the 2 bolts holding the cats together and loosen/remove the tailpipe hanger behind cats. Wiggle bracket over exhaust first then bring up slider and assemble loosely. Tighten it all up last.

Thanks for the tips. Got the brackets in tonight

Driver side is very straightforward. Loosen the brake lines and insert the u bolts directly against the frame then bolt it up.

Passenger was trickier. Luke from 4X4Labs told me to remove the heat shields but I didn't catch to loosen up the cats. The front bracket is big and takes a little bit of persuasion to get into place. I got the brackets in tonight and I'm going to get the slider on tomorrow night.

On a side note- double check your brackets vs. the frame rail height vs. the u bolt size right when your sliders show up.
Mine were fabbed with 100 series brackets when I first got them... the guys at 4X4Labs swapped them out but it was a lengthy process. I initially ordered both a rear bumper and sliders back in October. Bumper has been on for months and was perfect. These, well, I should be done tomorrow finally.

The photo with the yellow circles is the rough placement of the brackets- pretty much directly over the cat flanges in both spots. As @inkspot said, the flange between the front and rear is where you should loosen.

Well that was a bust. Got it up and aligned with the help of a buddy and realized nuts would be pretty helpful, the brackets aren't tapped. I'll round up some nuts and longer bolts tomorrow and try again. They probably shipped but I don't know where they are. Not sure why I got a couple spare bolts?

The smaller bolts actually bolt the front bracket directly to the frame. Don't know if the u-bolt stays too? I'll probably leave it on. In the pic below you can see I tried the u-bolt nut on the other bolt for kicks. Wrong thread.

The front bracket dictates where the slider lands on the cruiser, it has no room for adjustment.

There is a lot of room to work with the tandem cats. Looks like a dream compared to the situation on. 93-94 rig.

We did not remove any heat shields from our victim/customer's rig. It took some shuffling around, but we got it in. Getting to all the bolts and nuts to re-tighten them is also a royal pain. End result is sliders that look like they fit well, and the owner is happy. I am sure he will be testing them out over the next couple of months, so I will post up any good/bad news that we hear from him.

Done. Longer bolts and some nuts did the trick. I'll watch the heat and reinstall the shields if necessary. Hopefully this can help another newbie like me...

4X4Labs makes stout, functional stuff and I'm sure looking forward to banging around on them.
