Well the lift is in and now i'm working out bugs, I have the lean but even worse my 4wd is wobbling, do I need a longer drive shaft?

I dunno any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks
Eric

You might want to elaborate here. Whats wobbling? For a 3" lift you likely wont need longer shafts, but you might have some ujoint binding occuring. I dont think its likely though because the shafts in a cruiser are fairly long. If you are operating in 4wd at high speed (>25km/hr) and are experiencing vibration, it could be that your ujoints are not synchronized. The ears on the dshaft need to be aligned or you will get vibration. Vibration occrurs because, as the dshaft spins, the velocity on the small angle side of the driveshaft is less than that of the large angle side. Although the dshaft is balanced it is not equi-wieghted over its circumference; the ears weigh more. If the ears are not lined up you get mass speeding up and slowing down at different times on opposing ends of the dshaft and this creates vibration.

One other question. Did you change tires? are they balanced?

what do yo mean 4WD is wobbling? yo mean shaking? is this just with the hubs locked and in 4H? can you move the front driveshaft up and down right at the splines? does it do it in 2WD with the front end unlocked? if you lock the hubs and stay in 2WD does it do it?

where did you get a OME 3" lift?

got it from 4 wheel auto I love the ride other then my issues, it looks pretty damn good

the binding acurse with hubs locked, in 4wd and with them unlock in 4wd, with them locked in 2wd no binding, same with unlocked in 2wd

. yes it is more like binding, it didn't do this before the lift and I didn't touch the driveshafts

I was thinking that the splines should make up the difference, but it is also the side that leaning, so I dunno

BTW it only does it at higher speeds

thanks for any help

Umm, you are in toronto right? where are you driving at this time of year in 4wd at high speeds?

I wanted to test it out!

I actually went through a flat bean field on my parents land and I could feel it too.

funny though!

So your 2 main problems is the lean and the wobble.
I would check to see which spring went where.
The high spring should go on the drivers side.
You place them upside down on a flat floor and the one with the highest arch is the drivers side.

Some pics of your shaft around the universal joint might help

to be clear drivers side in a RHD or LHD side vehicle?

Any. The drivers side is ALWAYS the highest even in a jeep or landrover. This is something I would take up with the seller and make sure of if your in the US and buying a kit from Australia.

I think the directions on my Dobinson spring said fit the spring marked RH to the drivers side.Ok in oz but not so good in North America.
I think/hope that has all changed now.
My drivers side spring was about 12mm higher but the vehcle it is still level after 3 years.
