Hey all, I have some weird behavior I was hoping y'all could help with. I searched the forums and couldn't fine anything similar. The behavior of my push button 4wd on my kzj78 is very weird, I can lock the hubs, turn on 4wd and if the engine has been running a while, it's OK but if it's fairly soon after I've started up the light flickers on and off. If I've managed to get it in 4wd (hubs locked, everything working fine) and I switch the transfer case over to 4lo, the 4wd light turns off and there's no power to the front wheels.
Seems to me like maybe my 4wd control unit is acting up? Has anyone had theirs refurbed? I imagine the 28yr old capacitors and such are on their last legs but I don't want to jump to that in case there's something else like a vacuum leak which could cause this. I'm not super mechanically minded and my mechanic is great but not super experience with these vehicles
