Both of these pics are of a '96, why does the "4WD" emblem move, any significants, or just something weird............most the ones I have seen are on the left side like on the white cruiser

I never really noticed this before. My 4WD is placed where it is on the second pic. Maybe the ones that came with the gold emblems were put there. Or someoen just moved it.

My guess is collision and/or repaint. The person fixing it put it the wrong spot.

The reason I ask is it is placed on the right side of one that I am looking at to buy...........wouldn't think two on ebay would have them in the wrong spot............could be right though, maybe an accident

I personally have never seen one on the right side.

I've never seen one on US-PS as in the first pic. My guess repair/repaint and the body shop placed it in the wrong spot.

Check the antenna nut. A small detail some forget to change when they swap into gold emblems. It may be that this owner did so .. switch to gold from silver.

TY

PS: I removed my 4WD emblem permanently recently. I like it a lot better without.

my vote...

vast right-wing conspiracy

although i could be wrong.

It could be something as simple as the emblems being reapplied in different places in connection with the gold bling-bling addition.

Do you also have a 40? if so check yer bezel.

Someone simply stuck it there. It's not the OEM location -- the white LC shows the orig. OEM location for the 4WD emblem.

Just a bit of somewhat related trivia...the 96 LX 450 has the 4WD emblem...the 97 LX 450 does not.

Because white is a better color! hehehe

the 96 is also black, which is possible for a stock 96 as against other year, but rare in stock, vs. very common in a repaint. Plus the pinstriping does not look stock. I would say repaint.

I thought they had a "black package" in 96.

Doug, I said that.

96 is the only year with a stock black tlc 80

The stock 96 blacks are rare.

Black repaints in all years are common (I suspect people hate that emerald green :D)

the pin striping on this truck does not look stock

the 4WD logo has been moved

I think it's a repaint even though I guess it could be factory black.

Not to hijack but did the Toyota "T" logo move depending on year? I thought I saw someone have it centered under the key hole for the back gate.
