HI folks!

I became a happy owner of 2012 Hzj76 recently.
love the car. It is just exactly what i wanted with 2 diff locks, facotry winch, snorkel, 1hz and 5speed manual
It has done close to 100K Kms and as such have a few minor things that need some TLC.
Has anyone fitted load helping airbags for their leaf sprung 70? Which brand?
Can i adopt/modify Tacoma ride rite bags onto my rear suspension? If not Tacoma which truck Airbag would come close ?

Thanks All!

The one place still on my list Mongolia!
Nice ride!!
Why not try the bags or add additional leafs.

Hi Squash!
Canada is the one place i want to visit, but your government denied me a visa twice. Don't know what they see in me, or don't see in me.
I don't want to add leafs because i like the way it rides now. I fear that it might become too harsh if add another one. This is my daily driver which means i also carry my 1 year old with her child seat in the rear. Therefore, i don't want to make it ride harder than it already is. I want airbags so i can fill them up when i am loaded and make them softer when i am just trolling around town.

Mmmmm Turbo!

Sadly this one is not a Turbo. My KZJ78 was a Turbo and that is the car that made me come back to 70 series.

You can get them from Australia(see link below), Im assuming the rear end is the same as the V8 models.
But I would replace the suspension. The 76 series factory suspension is rubbish(so is the 78/79 series) and at 100k is due for the scrap heap anyway.
If you put some good quality leafs/coils all round ,I would give you a good ride loaded/unloaded.
The mining and government here wont accept delivery of the Landcruisers for outback work with the stock suspension because it fails very quickly when you use it off road or on bad roads regularly.

Thank you for the info Rosco! I will look into other options. Local supplier wants $700 per corner for the leafs.

Good day all!
A lot of moons have passed since the last time i posted.
During those moons i have exchanged through a 2011 GCC Spec hzj76 , 1995 JDM KZJ78 MT and now daily driving a General Spec HZJ76.
I Feel really lucky that i have a chance to experience all those different markets in one place.
Will be driving my current 2011 Gen Spec hzj76 (mining spec) for a while. Maybe i will be interested in a VDJ76 in the future, but i love the 1HZ too much.

Differences (Pros) over the GCC Spec
1. 2 Batteries from Factory
2. 4.5kW starter vs 2.5kW
3. Rear heater
4. Fuel filter heater

Cons over the GCC Spec

1. No tachometer
2. No voltmeter
3. No oil pressure gauge

Standard options
1. Front Rear E Diff locks
2. Factory Aisin E Winch
3. Factory raised air intake (almost a snorkel)
4. Factory Interior Roll cage
5. Factory aluminium roof rack.
6. Power windows
7. Power door locks

Since it is a mining spec it lacks a few things i wish it had.
1. No door map pockets
2. it has full vinyl interior
3. No chrome edging on rain guards
4. No power mirrors
