4Runner / GX bumper mount location : Demello Bumper

I really like how the Demello flat top bumper sits closer to the hood as opposed to GX offroad bumpers that sit further out.

I asked Demello if a 4Runner bumper will fit a GX and they're not sure and said they would need a GX to do a test fit. They're in Riverside, CA. and I'm in Orlando so that's not going to happen. :D

Our bumpers covers mount different (4Runner straight / GX angle and straight) so I know I'll probably have to trim my flares but I don't have nor do I know how to weld and there's no offroad shops in my area so if I need to move the mounts I can't.

Does anyone know if the 4Runner and GX bumper mounts are in the same location?

Oh Yeah! That is the best looking bumper I've seen. Looks like a BUMPER not a tacked on 'snout extension'. If it fits (or can be made to fit*) a GX, count me in.

*Well, anything can be made to fit if you thrown down enough money. I'm talking reasonably easy to fit.

I agree. :D

You will need to trim the bumper to fit the grill since the GX hangs down a lot lower than the 4Runner.

I must've missed that. I don't mind cutting the flares but I'm not cutting the hood and grill. D*** IT! :bang:

Jason (owner of Demello) said he could make a bumper for our GX if someone has a GX they can do a test fit on. Anyone here in or near Riverside, CA.?

They make hooped bumpers too.

My bumper was designed for a Prado so I had to take off a LOT of front fender to get it to fit, not to mention the 5000 adjustments to allow the hood to clear.

Hi Dan, occasionally I watch a couple of your videos on YouTube. Fun stuff. You have an arb sahara bar? Any reason you didn't trim the bumper instead of the fenders?

I have an Iron Man 4x4 Bumper. It would compromise the strength of the bumper to trim it. I knew I wasn't going back, so what is 12" of sheet metal? :)
