Just realized I no longer have a Costco membership. Anyone else have one that is available to help me shop on Friday somewhere in Mesa? LMK Thanks!

Do you have coords to where the Cottonwood Camp is? I've never been out that way and would like to join you guys. I'll have my trailer with me to haul bags back to the base camp as well.

What meet at the gas station formerly know as Baja? We could, but it's only what 5mi to the turnoff? The big parking corral is normally the the cleanup HQ, we usually just meet there.

So this weekend is hikers cleaning up, when is the wheelers cleanup? It's good to get TV time for the cause, but would also be good to give recognition to the group that does most of the work, wheelers? The ORV community gets blasted for everything including global climate change. Some go out of their way to make a difference and still hikers get the credit, disappointing. :frown:

That was a little disappointing, not a mention of wheelers .

That seems inefficient.

Just imagine, people on foot on 143 or 401, each dragging 1 or 2 trash bags towards Beeline...

I know what you mean, anything with wheels are generally painted as the "bad guy" by any media source it seems. From mountain biking to rock crawling.

I heard her mention Danica and I as enjoying to hike around phoenix, which is true I guess partly, but did you guys not notice that almost every picture had wheelers in it?
I can't control what they say about me in the interview or how they edit it, but I gave them pics that showed who comes out... I for one thought that for a short interview they did a good job. It had all of the info about when, where, why and they even used the pictures I gave them.

Oh well, see everyone out there. They'll have a cameraman from Channel 12 up there so maybe it will get some more pics of wheelers on the news cleaning up.
:)

I don't think anyone was baggin on ya Tim . Just observations . I did however see my truck and trailer in the video:clap:. Maybe we could emphasize who really is doing the majority of this event, when they report on it tomorrow and let them know where the credit should be placed. Not for the ego aspect, but just for the awareness of all who think we are just "desert trash", ourselves. You're doing a fine job and that crap won't taint our enthusiasm, for doing the right thing, like most of us do anyway.
The sweater kinda threw me off though .
I vote that you wear it for the cleanup :hillbilly:

X2. I have no idea what was said in the whole interview, how much they decided to cut, etc. Just that it was a great opportunity for some good press about wheelers and it was missed.:frown:

How did you count the 500? It sure seemed like more - was that 500 that signed in?

Carl,

The counts are done by actual sign ins. I'm sure there are people who do not sign in, which will of course make the actual attendance high than the estimated numbers. It would be near impossable to get an "actual" number with the systems that are in place.

So, BMAN - how many hot dogs did you serve? Would that work for a metric?
