I'm about to lower my 4bt nv500/ splitcase into my fzj80. I'm wondering if someone that has done this swap could offer some help on the motor mounts. I have read about every cummins swap build and have gathered tons of great info so far. Specifically, did you use the front 4bt mounts or the mid mounts? Also, if you used the front mounts did you fab the frame side or use the factory frame mounts. With the 4bt, the front mounts are about in the factory frame position, but the mid mounts end up only about 9 inches forward of the firewall, putting the mounts for the frame side way down the slope of the frame. Also, without the original sae flywheel housing, there is no support for the rear of the 4bt. Any suggestions would be appreciated from thoseach that have done this. Thanks Fred.

I fabbed up some mounts. Flat plate on the engine side. Bought a pair on ebay that is 1/2 thick and drilled for the cummins engine. Just had to fabrircate the rest of it. On the frame side I used 1/2 thick angle iron. Probably overkill but I added some gusseting on the sides. I put a small stitch of weld on them to attach to the frame until I was sure they didn't need to be moved, then welded them.
