Need some more opinions before placing the new bead lock order. BIG TEX has a full width Dana 60 front axle and Dana 70 rear. I have been running 44" TSL's on 15" MRW wheels w/ 3" bs (picture). This is a trail rig only and usually is wheeled with 4-5 lbs tire pressure.

Today, I took delivery of the new 44 x 19.5 - 17 Pit Bull Rockers. I would like to go back with aluminum bead locks to save some weight. I am considering the Trail Ready 17 x 10 wheels with the maximum 4.5" backspacing.

Has anyone mounted their 44" Pit Bull's or TSL's (or other 44" tires) on 10" rims and if so, how do you like the set-up? Would you make that recommendation again over going with the 12" wheel?.

Is there anything else I should be concerned with?

Thank you for your comments.

Russell,

Aluminum wheels on Big Tex are like removing a bracelet from a 1000 pound woman...

Now THAT was funny !!! So true...So true....

Today, I ordered the TR 17 x 9's so maybe I'll save a couple of bracelet's worth.

Hope you are doing well Bruce.

hhmm....TR's and PitBulls...good choices :)

now get us some pics!

Here you go. Went with the Eagle 186 Aluminum 17 x 9 wheel with 4.75" bs and TR bead lock.

Check out the Pitt Bulls vs. Meanie's 42" IROC's. I have been running 44" TSL's and I still have a brand new 44" TSL that I kept as a spare. Standing side by side, the Pitt Bull looks to have substantially MORE tread on the ground. The specs on the tire show it to have about 1" more tread width but on a 44" tire...thats a lot of extra tread.

Can't wait to give them a try. By the way....Larry with Trail Ready was VERY helpful with the order. Anticipate the wheels w/i 2 weeks.

Hi,

It's precisely the question that I was posed for my LTB 47/17-17 and finally I chose TrailReady in 17x10 which I will buy via "LT" in two week.

Get us pics !!

Good luck getting the 17 x 10 TR's. Larry at TR told me earlier this week that they were in effect discontinued (in the 10" width) so I went with the 17x9.

My Trail Ready wheels arrived today! I'll let you know how they do. I'll say this.....They are beautiful ! :)

We did trail readys on a 60 series diesel, they looked bling.

Seem to remember Woody breaking in his new pit bulls and seeing them get better with every run.

One day I hope to have the cashola to own a set of those tires.
