When looking for some replacements for the 30x9.50r15 I put the 235/85r16 winters on for a while. I really liked the look of the 235’s (and I thought I was going to go that way) but then I decided to go for a more ‘original’ look and started looking for some 7.50’s to maintain the 32” diameter but be a bit narrower.

I ended up with a set of Yokohama Y742S which are an 8 ply rather than the typical 10 (which is nice for such a light truck.) Anyway, I was not able to find photos of a 40 on 7.50’s very easily so I thought I would post a few in case someone else is looking at going that way.

A great tyre selection for a nice rig.
Congrats mate!

How is living with them? Your personal review?
Looking for these Yokos in Europe...

Sorry did not see this until today. They are fine around town but by 80km/hr they get quite loud. I do love the look of them and think they are a great original looking option for the 40 series. I drove with them a couple of times in the snow and they seemed quite planted and have also been decent in the rain. That being said, if you are travelling long distance at speed there will be quieter options.

Nice to hear back from Edmonton, thank you mate for your review! 👍
Certainly a interesting tyre, from a serious brand, for my slow BJ45 (3B+4spd) PUP...

Greetings from Greece...and keep posting! ;)

Here my 42 with 7.50 - 16 tires. Bridgestone Jeepservice. Except for the look, I hated these tires. Noisy, speed rating at 120km/h, very poor wear and very dangerous when doing emergency maneuvers at high speed.
