I have a reproduction metal stamped bezel for the early 40 series “Land Cruiser” I have two of them and would really like to trade this one for an original stamped bezel with Patina. My 45 is a patina build, so I am trying to match that. I am willing to add cash to deal for the right bezel.

I may be willing to sell it out right if someone really wants it.

If you have one let me know.

Keep it and add your own patina....should be easy to do. I have a couple of those I bought years ago. They are still raw steel as I have never painted them. I have a really rusted but solid bezel if you want it.

Get some salt watet spray and hydrogen peroxide on it. Or leave outside. Are you looking for offwhite patina? Latter is harder

This was my initial thought but it doesn’t sit right on my bib. I think it could be because of the led Koito lights I installed. I have another bib with stock lights and it fits that bib just fine. I don’t have the fitment issue with the original bib either.

If you’re talking about the gap(?) I believe it’s because the reproduction bezel doesn’t have the flared edge like the original stamped bezel or any original bezel.

Here’s the thread about it:

Yes this is what I am talking about but it fits differently on two different early bibs that I have. I don’t know why that is, the only difference is the lights installed in them. The flange would make a difference.

I had a thought last night and I might just cut the center out of the reproduction bib and weld it into an oem bib. My build is not a period correct restoration of any sort, so I am fine doing this.

Add longer rubber spacers on bezel maybe? I just use the stock style Halogen lights and do not do much night driving....

I put rubber spacers behind mine(65LV) Not sure if I added them before or after I added the Koito H4 lights(flat faced) Guessing you have the same repo bezel that came from south America maybe 10 years ago. I bought a few of those. The new style Koito lights look kinda goofy actually, may put the more traditional Cibie's back in.

5/8” fuel hose works great for spacers. I did this on Liam’s truck.

If you were to sell I'd be interested.

As @ceylonfj40nut posted, fuel line is your friend. I had to get creative with it when I put the fiberglass bezel from LCS on my 45.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

If you were to sell I'd be interested.

I going to hold onto it at the moment to play with a few ideas.
