Did some wheeling this morning in my LX570. When I went to switch it out of 4 Lo it took a very long time to switch to 4 Hi. To the point where I thought it was never going to shift out of Lo. I don't remember it taking nearly that long (30 seconds, a minute?) in the past. Thoughts? How long does it take you?

Bind-up. Cold fluids. In that order. Mine is almost instantaneous except for BU CF.

You are probably right. This was the first time wheeling on a cold day.

Also a lot different than my 60 and ex 100. Sometimes I miss the mechanical ways. Atleast I didn't have to use both hands to shift on a cold day.

Happened to me. Took a trip to Florida with the family. On the return trip somewhere in South Carolina I wanted to take an "alternative path" so I put it into 4lo. After the 100yard excursion it wouldn't go back into 4hi. I was freaking out because the suv was loaded with kids gear, food, rooftop carrier, etc and we were still 400+ miles from our destination. I restarted the rig, did figure 8's, reversed, etc and the light wouldn't go off. 20mins later I did another figure 8 shut the engine off and the light turned 4lo light turned off. Tested it again when we got home and didn't have any issues engaging or disengaging. So I attributed it to some binding due to extra weight of the gear.
Ironically, when my wife uses crawl control on our steep driveway when coated with ice in the winter months she never has any issues. She's used crawl control a hand full of times.

You clearly haven't seen how much 'use' my LX has received. I'm pretty impressed how many impacts the running boards have taken without breaking. Bending, yes, breaking, no.

And it hasn't been to the mall even once :)

I recently observed this on my LX. With a bit of investigation, I found that the ground strap was corroded. I removed the factory ground strap and made my own, and the issue is solved. Night and day. It is the only ground for the shift motor.

Also.......It seems to me that I am missing something. When I put it in 4lo, it seems like when I put my foot on the gas, the truck gives me nothing, like it is hampering me from accelerating at the speed I desire.

I do not think it is in crawl mode as they is no god awful noises.

Is there a button I need to press?

In the past after fixing the "wont go into 4lo thing with the ground wire" it seemed to run through the gears with no issue.

Any thoughts? 09 LX570...

I am sure I could find it with some investigation of my own. Could you share where the ground strap is located and when I am under there changing oil tomorrow I will check mine.

It is a strap connected to a bracket at the TOP of the t case, and goes to the body toward the driver side....... I removed the bracket from the tcase, as it would be part of the circuit and cleaned it aswell. You cannot miss it.

I also, just for good measure, ran another ground from the body to the frame in that same location

Ty! Going to check on this today. Easy maintenance check.

IIRC, because this thing is 100% drive by wire, every aspect of the operation is governed by the logic flow in the various computers, which can cascade in undesirable ways.

It may be as simple as the engine is waiting for the transfer case to tell it that it's ready, or it could be something entirely different. I do remember a delay, of some length, but I can't remember now how long, when I shifted into 4Lo. Mine needed the reapir I posted, but I didn't get around to it before I gave it to my daughter. She doesn't have any tank trails near her, so she hasn't missed it.
