i am thinking about buying proffitt cruisers 4 link suspension for for the rear end my fj40 and i just wanted to see if any body had any pics of there rig with the 4 link, and some advice on how well the kit works and quaility of it thanks.

for scale on my avitar pic. im 6'6" those are 35" tires, and it still had more travel left.

it is from Proffitts, Ill try to get some close ups posted but no quarantee because i usually go insane trying to get pictures to post. (maybe i should buy a star. duh) if you go to Proffitts web site they have some pretty close shots of them.

how well does your fj drive on the highway, if you ever have, with the 3 link in the front.

Proffitts recommends that you only do the rear coil suspension and leave the front with leaf springs if you want to drive it on the road. I drive mine around town but Im not willing to drive it at highway speeds. It is so soft that any kind of evasive actions would be uber sketchy. screeeeeeccchhh flub flubba flubba KA BOOM. I dont use mine as a daily driver anymore just from campsite to trail head kind of thing now. I bet the rear only would be fine as a daily driver.

They do say on their website to go SOA on the front if you drive it on the street. I'm doing a drivetrain swap this winter so the links will have to wait a year but I think, at least right now, I'll get the Proffitt's "kit".

Have you tried a sway bar setup yet? My 40 is linked F & R (y-link front & panhard / tri 4 link rear), no sway bars, & it drives perfect on the road, even sudden swerves are fine. It's not the Profitts kit though.

I put a antirock sway bar on the back axle. It helps keep the body a little more level when the suspension is flexing but the springs are still to soft for safe road travel at high speed.

how knows the spring rate for those coils .. ? sure you can swap for anothers with better ( to suit your aplications ) rate coils if you want ..
