Some more baby steps...at least I can say since owning the truck for once the spring mounts will actually support the weight of the truck. Almost getting to the point where the amount of welding wont out weight the amount of metal shavings on the floor of the shop. Soon I will be media blasting the remaining frame to check for cracks:

Plus I am starting the power steering install:

And I have my new springs from Deaver for the truck:

Hmm.... wonder if I can import a 4 door in to the Middle East without breaking it down... :)

What engines and transmissions came in them in 2001?

Has anyone heard from Ehsan lately????

have ya taken any pics or can you of how you are going to lift your body off chassis too please

I just used jacks and jacks stands to lift the body up and then I rolled the chassis out from under the body. I was in a rush so I didn't get any photos of this. I have in the past also used my tractor with a fork lift attachment to just lift the bodies off as well---both work well and I have been able to do this all by myself with no help.

I'm curious about your Deaver springs--what specs did you build them to:
how much lift?
did you estimate front/rear weights?
what width and spring eye diameter did you use early-8/80 or 8/80 and later?
what shocks will you use?

I was going to have Deaver build some for my troopy a couple years ago. They first tried to steer me to Alcan, but I didn't want to go there so they (Jeff?) were happy to work with me. I finally got the info I needed and right before I pulled the trigger I bought a Trakka camper and put them on hold until I got it all worked out so I could reweigh it. Hasn't made it back to the top of my priorities, unfortunately.

I actually sent Deaver a set of stock FJ45 springs and told them the lift and weight I needed the springs to support. So the springs I have are based off of a stock FJ45 LWB truck. I will have to measure the full travel of axles before deciding the shocks to be used, would like to run OME or Bilstein. If you send them one front and rear spring from your troopy and tell them the specs your shooting for they should be able to build it. Hope this helps.
