My Dad offered to sell me his 470. It's the olive ish green color, paint is perfect, interior perfect, non navigation, no locker, ahc works fine, year 2000 ish I think. 170k, he will sell it to me for 9k. It's a beautiful truck. If I buy it though then my beautiful 99 4runner would have to be sold. It's a limited, black paint, black wheels, locker, 210k, supercharger, 7th injector, nice bilsteins, 15MPG in town. Should I take him up on it? Only used for daily driving and getting through the snow. I have my 40 I use for offroad.

2 cars is better than 1......

I've had both and the 100 is much more comfortable to daily drive than a 4runner. You can't talk your dad any lower on the price?

AHC is one of the best riding systems out there...

Keep the 4Runner. It sounds like it's built up already.

I have both and the plan is to keep both and possibly sell the 4Runner at some point.

We outgrew the 4Runner. With 5 step daughters, it is nice to have the 8 passenger 100, and it seems to swallow even more cargo than the 4runner does.

From an offroad perspective, the 4Runner is superior. The aftermarket is there, it is the perfect size for most trails, and is so much higher on the smiles/$ scale. I still daily drive mine after rolling it. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I am avoiding selling it because I know I will regret it.

The 100 seems to be pretty much better at everything else. Much more comfortable on long trips, more power, more space, etc. She's built like a tank too. Parts that I have broken on the 4runner I know will never break on the 100.

Your question is like: should I keep my 944 or buy a 911...

Keep the 4Runner. It's already built and you've already dumped all the time and money into making it "yours". Your dad isn't cutting you an exceptional price on the LX so there's no real incentive to buying it now. If you want to upgrade in the future, you'll be able to find a similarly nice but presumably newer 100 series at the same price point.
