3FE'ers unite! Well, anyone done a re-gear and can someone share their impressions and costs?

Just revived an old thread on this topic (using Search didn't reveal too much, I'm sure I could have looked harder). If any local 3FE 80 owners have re-geared, I'd love to understand your impressions and approximately what this costs.

I would love some 4.88's in mine, but at this point, it was not worth the cost (roughly 1/3rd-1/2 what I paid for the vehicle). I did recently add a speedometer correction gear, which helped the power band and drivability a bit. It did not sting nearly as much as gears… well under $50. But it also did not give me the "power" that rehearing would have either.
