What?! Man, you've got to deal with Toyota dealers that know their products better. I called Jim Pattison Toyota in Surrey for you, and they confirmed that it's still available. Takes about a day to get it in from the warehouse. If you want to deal with them, I'm sure that they could mail order it to you with a credit card (you're on the Island, right?). Anyway, the part number is: 11213-56012. The Toyota parts guys at JP Toyota all drive Cruisers, so they know their stuff there. Ask for Dan or Gord. Cheers. JP Toyota Phone number: (604) 597-3637.

Found one in Vancouver, $25...have it tommorrow.

Yeah, the guy in Duncan argues with me, tells me that the '88 Landcruiser (says it like there's only one) never came with a diesel....huh? It goes on like this until I convince him that it's a 3.4L I4 diesel called a "3B"...blah blah blah...he then hits the right keys on the computer and Toyota confirms there's one in Vancouver.

Does anyone know the number of the head gasket as well? (and if it is the same, please laugh at me..)
thanks
J

See if you can find the download for the parts microfiche for you model year cruiser. I downloaded the complete parts listing for my '85 BJ70 a couple years ago which lists part numbers for everything on the truck, including the engine. It's been very helpful for making sure I get the right parts as well as taking things apart becaue of the diagrams it contains. It's nice being able to just phone the dealership, tell them the part number, and then they can confirm if it's still available or not.

That just goes to show that all folks who work for the same company (Jim Pattison Toyota in Surrey and Metro Toyota on the island are both part of the Jim Pattison Group) are not of the same caliber.

Gord Cooper knows LandCruisers inside out (at least the diesel ones) and he's willing to look stuff up for the other ones like my kid's FJ55.

he is right if all he goes by is the JPC. in Canada the only 88 was the FJ62. you will need to order for a 87 70 series then they will have the listing for most of your parts,
$25 for a piece of 1/4" rubber, what a rip...
the front symbol on crusiers should be
$$$$ cruiser $$$$

Do you remember where you downloaded that from? I did several intensive net searches, and could not find this.
Otherwise, could you maybe email this file? Or burn it on a CD and send it? I'll be more than happy to cover the costs!
Thanks,
J

Gord (Parts Manager, JP Toyota) has been great to me. When I walked in there looking for Cruiser parts, he set up an account for me getting me an automatic discount every time I buy stuff. And yes, both him and Dan know their Cruiser parts. Even though I now live in Langley, I still drive into Surrey to get parts at JP Toyota.

It was a couple years ago that I downloaded it and I think it was from a French website. I did have it as a pdf but I had it printed out and did keep the file but a corrupted hard drive later and it was gone. It was a lot to print out, it fills a 1 & 1/2 inch binder.
