There has been a fair bit of talk about otherwise healthy 3Bs with low oil pressure. I stumbled across this BBS tonight and this guy seems to be onto something. There is quite a diffference in restriction between different filters even before the bypass opens and I wonder if this can explain the wide variance betwwen otherwise equal engines.

My scotch enhanced ADD stopped me before I read the fourth page. Somebody read the whole thing and report back to the class.

Thanks

Maybe we can do our own poll.

I use a PH8a just because its cheap and my pressure runs 20@ idle and up to 45 psi at full cruiser speed .

Anyone else what filters and press.

Interesting site none the less.

All good stuff and interesting but still inconclusive at the 4th page and the 3rd page deviated into Volvo bashing:D

There is a multitude of things to factor in before you can arrive at definitive answer.

I think the Wix scored well in the preliminary tests so I think Ill stick with them.

i think you all are getting too tech here, it is the typical Toyota gauges... Toyota builds a great truck but they need a new supplier for their gauges...
cheers

doesn't everyone run a mech oil gauge? Diesel fans love gauges whats the deal
