My exhaust finally went for the worst yesterday.. and looking at it, all it had was pipe and a muffler.. is there a cattilytic converter suppose to be on? and where do I find some new exhuast?

My recipe goes someing like...

Take one 6" section of 2.25" pipe and weld a flange to it.
connect one flexy piece
add more 2.25"pipe as required
stir in one 90 bend
add more pipe
blend in one cherry bomb
finish with a final 90 before pass side rear tire.
decorate with hangers

No you shouldn't have a cat
any exhaust shop can handle the job

I have a complete BJ40 (not BJ42) exhaust from front to back including all the factory hangers and fasteners for sale cheap if anybody needs one.

No cat convertor on the older diesels. When replacing the exhaust think big for lower backpressure. Diesels don't need, want or work better with back pressure.
If you're turbo'd you might consider doing away with the muffler completely. I have NO muffler on my BJ60 and I don't find it objectionably noisy.

go with custom 2 1/2" aluminized exhaust and a free flowing STEEL muffler.. works very well and lasts a LOOOONG time...
cheers
