I changed out the radiator in my 2L powered LN85 Hilux today. The factory unit did 36years of service. Impressive!

A brand new brass/copper radiator has gone in, along with new hoses. For those in Australia the new unit was an Adrad radiator, $750.

The old one was weeping coolant along the top tank seam.

Nice clean looking truck mate. I'm changing my OEM also(or trying to). My 1985 radiator with auto trans cooler is leaking ATF into the coolant. Nothing outside just a weird transfer for ATF to radiator coolant. I recently purchased the rig and I thought it was pink eco coolant at first, until transmission was 1 -1/2 qts. low. I plugged the ATF lines to the radiator and confirmed this oddity. Now having a hell of a time with a replacement radiator. Installed on from AutoZone got, the right 16-3/4 core length but the hood won't close, cap sets about 1/2 higher than my stock unit. Good luck with your replacement.

not a surprise.... its a toyota LOL

Is the radiator original? Could you indicate if in a fairly strong rise the temperature needle reaches halfway if you are pedaling hard for 5 minutes?
