This has probably been asked 100 times buy now but I am going to ask again. I am going a 350 conversion to me FJ-40 I am in need or a rad. Will rescoring the stock rad do the job or do I have to look at getting one of the conversion rads?
Thank You

I have a stock 40 series Radiator with a 350 chevy. Even with with a couple tiny pinhole leaks and not keeping at optimum pressure doesn't overheat.

I did put on a ford taurus electric fan, on low speed keeps me at 200 all day long

I've had the opposite experience with a stock radiator and sbc. Mine was marginal even with the Taurus fan. I could over heat it and never really trusted it and always carried atlest a gallon of coolant. I got a aluminium champion and have yet to get it past 200. If your going to have to spend money rodding the stock radiator look at the champion. Could possibly be my best upgrade for reliability I've done in twenty years

To many variables for a definitve answer. A stock one may work, if not go bigger or aluminum. In any case a proper shroud is a must.
