NEED 350-A440 HELP ASAP please.
I am trying to get this damn tranny working, the transmission isnt engaging, not getting any line pressure, i think its because the torque converter isnt engaging with the pump. The reason we are having so much trouble is because there is no inspection hole to get to the torque converter bolts in the advanced adapter bellhousing adapter. So we have to install the engine with the torque converter attached to it. Has anyone dealt with this before or any advice on creating an inspection hole.
Also i qm wondering if the washers that came with the kit that are stepped might have anything to do with this. I dont think they would be a spacer between the flex plate and the torque converter but it seems like the torque converter isnt going in far enough.
The mechanic said he had a look at the transmission and the pump seemed like it wasnt damaged.
I put about 40 hours into this thing, only to not have it working, it is at the mechanics right now and they are a little confused (it was sitting there a month before they had time to get it in there!!) And i worked on it evenings and weekends for about a month before it made I got it to them!
I could really use some help from the forum about now, I am way beyond burnt out on this project and the mechanic bill is adding up. If anyone can give me some perspective or experience with this it would be awesome. Thanks!
--I posted this in the 80 section as well, but it seems there are more people with firsthand 350 conversions in the 60 section and i am trying to find some direction for the mechanic tommorrow so i posted this here as well. Sorry and Thanks.
