My 1970 FJ40 has a stock suspension with the exception of pinnacle lift shackles which add only about 1" of lift all around. Currently have BFG K02's in 31x10.50 on stock 15" steel wheels.

I'm interested in running Kenda Klever RT's in 33x9.50R15 but was not sure if they would fit on my rig. Does anybody have helpful input one way or the other? Thanks in advance.

Check the actual tire diameter… in many cases there isn’t a lot of difference between 31’s and 33s…. It depends on the tire. 33s are iffy with stock suspension. :frown:

I'm running those 33x9.5 Klevers on (what I think is) a stock suspension - 75 FJ40. Fronts are fine but rears rub when I go over a bump. I added 1" aluminum spacers underneath my bump stops as a temporary fix but will need to add a lift. The bump stop spacers are not ideal but I have not had any rubbing since I added them. I do like the look of the tires.

I have stock set up and recently installed the 33x9.5x15 had to adjust the turn Radius stops in front a little bit but work fine going install some lift shackles in rear until I decide on lift

I also had the BFG and replaced with KK. No worries about the fit, but the truck takes off a lot slower from a stop. I also downshift more in traffic.

Beautiful truck! That's a good point. Thanks for bringing it up...with the 3 speed still in mine, I already don't have much leeway as to which gear I'm in...

In the rear you might try adding a 1/4" spacer between the rim and axle to gain a little more space between the tire and inner fenderwell.

I had a 1971 with a 3 speed. I feel like it was more versatile in daily driving than the 4 speed.
