so my helper wants to come to the river shiver 2005 but does not have a vehicle to drive. i have a LJ71 that i have wanted to try some new ideas on.
first is the 33" skinnies and then a low profile winch and mount.
the 33s bolted on with ease and NO lift and after some extensive testing found they do not rub even under full articulation. another interesting side note is that the truck turns these tires with no problem at all. in low range other than a lack of traction it is almost unstoppable. it has wicked approach and break over angles and if the rear bumper was removed it would have great departure angles as well.
side hill is fine but the truck does feel top heavy in comparrison to the Mits J54 and the flex isn't as good either but i think if i was to cut the stoppers down a bit it will make a noticable difference.
the winch plate is a custom above the frame mount and the approach angle has not been hampered in any way. the tuggem points are the problem, they hang way too low so i will need to address this in the future.
