Sorry, I can't find anything on this particular tire size.

Is a 305/70/16 too wide to fit on a LX without a lift? Will it rub? I'm concerned with clearance at steering lock and/or full front suspension compression?

305/70/16
Diameter: 32.81 in
Width: 12.00 in

For comparison

285/75/16
Diameter: 32.83 in
Width: 11.22 in

Thanks

I think the consensus is, some rub on full lock and some don't.

Thanks, should have said this earlier but, if I get that size I would be running BFG ATs. Is the type of tire what you mean by some do and some don't??

I don't think it has to do with tire type but manufacturing differences between brands.

in H you may be fine. In N you may run at full flex. In L probably rub on everything.

Talking about AHC and not transfer case.

I have a cruiser.. What do I know!?!

hmm....

So no one knows for sure if a 305/70/16 BFG AT will rub on stock LX when AHC is normal ride height? Also, how much rub? Can adjusting the steering stopper things fix it without completely destroying the turning circle?

Slee?? Shotts?? Anybody??

Hope I'm not being annoying

Basically 305 is pushing it so you'll have to wait for somebody who actually has that specific tire on a non-lifted truck to reply.

The other option is to have the tire shop test fit it and let us know. That's what I will do when I am ready.

If you want the 305's, then go for it. You can always adjust the steering stops, trim some plastic or give it some lift.

Thanks for the replies, this has helped a lot.

And once you start, it never ends!

What type of tire?

My 305 BFG MTs rubbed even with a lift and the Slee Diff Drop.

My present Toyo ATs 295s still rub at full crank.

Hi

Unfortunately it will rub at full steering lock and under full articulation.

I had 285/75/16 bfg muds on and changed to 305/70/16 Mickey Thompson Baja claw's on a lifted 105 and under full articulation like on this pic te rear tyres rud slighty on the inside of the body.

I know i am talking about two different vehicles now but given it rubs on a lifted vehicle it will def rub on a stock ifs.

Lift it !!;)
