305 70 16 Duratracs on the way! *Installed - bottom of Page 2*

Tires are on, go to the bottom of page 2 for pics.

I'm very excited to announce that I have purchased some 305-70R16 Goodyear Duratracs from Discount Tire. Apparently they are on national backorder right now, and I bought the last set that they could find in this size anywhere in the country. They are being shipped in from a warehouse in Wisconsin.

I am a little miffed that I requested 5, but they only ordered 4, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the spare since the tire is somewhat impossible to find in the 305 size right now. Additionally, they flat refused to price match onlinetires.com's price of $191/tire, stating that price was below their cost and that they couldn't do it. I still intend to bring in the paperwork and see if they can work something out, but $225/ea was the lowest I could talk them down to on the phone. I've never had them refuse a price match before, but there is a first time for everything I suppose. Given the scarcity of the tire in this size right now, I don't have a ton of bargaining power on my side...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting these installed, I should have pics on saturday! :D

Anyone else running Duratracs in 305? Pics?

I got pics of 305 nitto TG's:) lol

Heh, seen em. :)

I've seen a couple rigs on here with the 285 Duratracs, but not with 305's. Can't find much by way of google either...my skills must be lacking!

Oh, and I'm fully testing the "305's will fit on a non-lifted 100" theory. No lift as of yet. I will probably crank the t-bars a little to level the front end, but I'm not running springs or shocks yet.

If it rubs, then...well, I'll just have to spend some more of my tax return at slee's at piss the :princess: off a little to make it work, lol.

Tirerack has that 5th duratrac tire you are looking for. $213 plus shipping. But if you have the extra warranty coverage through discount tire, it would be best you wait to get it through them.

I can get the tires from online sources, but you're right - I'm trying to get all 5 through DT so I can do the 5 tire rotation for free and get the warranty, etc.

If it comes down to it, I'll just order one from Onlinetires for the $191 price and have DT install it, and see if they can work with me on the rotation. After all, they were SUPPOSED to get me the 5th tire to begin with...;)

Just tell her that you dint know 305's were too big:D

Here are my Duratracs doin what they do best! They are 285s though. I would like to see how your tires look though. Great choice of tire though!

Shaggy, the top picture you posted is one of the reasons that I decided to go with the Duratracs. They simply look bad ass all soaked in mud. :)

I actually priced 285s at DT, and they are even more expensive than the 305s! So, getting the bigger tire was a no brainer for me, except for the logisitical hassle of getting them shipped in. I'm hoping that they will call me tomorrow to tell me that they have arrived, then I'll head over saturday morning for the install.

How much lift is required to allow the 305/70 to fit? I currently have the BFG AT's in 285/75 at stock height... no rubbing. I'd love to go with the 305's on the next round.

I don't think you would have a problem, 305 KM-2's do not rub sitting on the bumpstops on the front/rear. I have also been full lock while sitting on the bump stops and no rub. My 295 BFG A/T was a different story... even with a lift i rubbed in the fender wells

Congrats. I too am looking at a set of these -in 285. Will probably throw a used 285 XX (whatever brand) on the spare. Shaggy - I'm going for a black version of your rig.

They called today, tires are in. I have to shuttle kids around and then head off to work, so no time to get them put on today. Tomorrow morning I'll head over.

Supra, I'm not lifted at all so based on Nick's experience with the KM2's, we'll see if these rub at stock height. I guess I'll be the first official guinea pig for 305's on a non-lifted rig. I'm not expecting any trouble, but Slee isn't far away should I have issues.

More to follow.

I just got 31/10.5/15 Duratracs on my 60 from Discount in Boulder. They not only matched the price of 4 Wheel Parts in Westminster they beat it by $20.

As a side note I refused the tire warranty. The sales dude said he's cut the price in half so I went for it. So for $41 I got all 4 tires covered. This may or may not work at your shop, but it might be worth a shot.
