Just sold my 80 and searched through the forum last week for this truck when it was for sale previously! Really want it but with buying a house next week just don't have the funds. Keep it for another couple years so I can save up!!

Sweet rig

How's it for a DD rig? Trade for an '01 VW Golf TDI! ;)

It is a great DD rig. I love driving it.

Just need to free up some cash for house repairs.

What kind of maintenance will/does the new motor need in it's life and are the parts easy to come by?

Do the cv's need replaced or are they just seeping a little bit?

Any other items you would want to address within the next few thousand miles?

Sorry for so many questions but I'm really intrigued by this. Is there a build thread out there?

Thanks,
fjrohrs

No unusual maintenance is needed on motor. Good solid power plant. All consumable parts can be found at local Toyota dealer and other parts are easily sourced and will give the new owner all my contacts.

CVs could be reboot but for $200 @ local parts place you can get new ones.

Timing belt due in about 10k miles. Easy job with it being external.

No build thread.

Thanks for all the questions.

love this rig.

Add me to the list of wishful tire kickers...:crybaby:

Bomar, Sweet rig.
Owning an original 1KZ-TE Surf, I will attest to it being a great motor, and amazing rig to drive. Only difference is my completely original rig will get 28mpg!

GLWS.
