should i go 2 1/2 in. or 3 in. exhaust? And why?? what muffler would you suggest? flowmaster, dynomax or something else. where do i find a turbo dump to match. i found some on ebay for a 91 supra with a ct26 turbo. it looks like it would fit the ct20 also.but im not sure. also what is everyone doing to improve air intake.

exhaust

go 3inch mandr, any local exhaust shop can bend this for u, usually 400-700 depending on how far back u need to go.

and y u may ask?

my girl or any chick of that matter will say bigger is better lol

its logical more air breathing through the system will b easier on the engine(think as if the exhaust were your lungs )

hope I helped or u can ask my girl why bigger is better lol

cheers

There is not a single exhaust shop that I have heard of on the Province of BC that has a mandrel bender.

I'd buy one if I had $125k just lying around.

thanks for the feed back. i was just going to buy the bends and weld up a system myself. just gotta find the flex piece. the local mack dealership has prebent mandrel bends for about 23 bucks each. the only flex they can get is stainless 3" for 140. too much. canadian tire has a braided flex but only 2".

Vibrant (available Lordco) - bring your bank with you - make a bunch of nice ones in 2.5 & 3.0 in various length. s

2.5 inch is plenty. Get two mandrel bent j pipes and a flex pipe from Exhaust Direct Performance from eBay www.exhaustdirect.ca. Great pricing and super fast shipping. They are located in Eastern Canada. You can cut and weld the J pipes to what ever bends that will be needed. I made my exhaust and inter cooler piping from them.

Take Care.

Muffler Tech has the flexpipe, they just installed one on my truck.

John shop linked above has a Mandrell bender in house, and they do beautifull work, never thought I would say that about exhaust work. Matt tucked a Magnaflow resonator nicely between the rockers and frame, exsits discreetly in front of the rear tire now instead of the original 2 miles of pipe snaking in every direction under my truck and out the back. Slightly more power and a huge difference in EGT's now I can use my A/C :flipoff2: and drive UP the coquihalla at the same time! (I previuosly cracked my head doing that - the weekend after buying the prado).

3 inch

yep, same place I was thinking. they do great work for a fair price. There is a few other mandr shops in B.c I will try and post them up. I understand 3inch is maybe a tad overboard, but I was just advising what I would do to my turbo exhaust system if I was gonna replace it and spend the extra bit of $, cause in the end the air flow might save u some yrs on life of vehicle and give u some more HORSE POWER!!! vrmmmm vrmmmmmm

like my girl said. go big or dont get it or touch it lol

did you also use a muffler? or just resonator. how loud is it? i am not a harley davidson kind of guy. i like to be able hear myself think and not get a headache. free flowing but quiet is good

No Muffler just a resonator its not as loud as a harley - more like a cummins diesel under heavy accelartion, but a very different tone not as mean sounding and no clouds of black smoke. I only notice it when floored or going up hills or when driving in tunnels/underground's especially when there is a concrete wall close to the exhaust side, no differance at idle and not much louder in city traffic. My tires are louder than the exhaust on the hwy, 31" Goodyear MTR's - the older non-kevlar ones.

cool, that would make exhaust much more compact, easy to dump out on right side. i think that is what i will do also

I put 3" all the way down the right side with a bullet style exhaust, anything else would have lowered my clearance.
it is louder, and at the tip we made it point down and slightly under the step to avoid burns
