They had a 2LTE in 1984?

I would have thought it was a 3B

There are those on the Forum that will tell you that the 2L-TE is only good as a "static display.":D

Hi there,

I'm Ritch quite new here don't kno if you could help me out here. I have an 1985 SR5 4x4 22RE and would like to swap it to a 2L-T diesel. Is it a good engine even although it's a timming belt ? Cause my truck is so hard on gas (between 13-18 mpg)

Find a 3L or 5L. There is complete north American spec diesel truck on Vancouver kijiji with a 2lt for sale. I've owned both and I think the 22re is a better animal. The 3L or 5L are good with a decent cooling system and a regulated foot

ummm, stick with the gasser unless you like replacing heads, s***ty fuel economy and gutless engines ...

now, a 3B would move your truck nicely.

Is a 3b install possible while maintaining a stockish look ie small sas lift. I was super keen on your pz project... I guess it wasn't really possible though

nah, the PZ is too long to fit into the engine bay.
the 3B has been done by others, i have not done one personally.
reworking the oil pan would probably solve a lot of the pain of installing into a mini-truck.
