Hello My Diesel Cousins:
I drive an '88 FJ62 - 3FE with the A440 slush box. I'd REALLY like to go diesel when the ol' 3FE gives up the ghost. I did a search seeking some information on the 2H engine and was not able to find what I seek.
What I'd like to find out is: what kind of fuel economy (MPG) are those of you with the 2H diesel getting? My overall plan is to have a diesel engine (likely to include a turbo) mated to the H55 tranny. Will the addition of the turbo affect mileage?
How does the 2H measure up to the 3B for performance and mileage? Dollar for dollar, what is the best option? I would like to keep the Cruiser all Toyota, while simultaneously maximizing performance and reliability. Thoughts? Questions? Thanks!
