1988 Toyota Land Cruiser
Example of what I mean when I say I can't call it "rust free":
The worst of the rust. It doesn't go any further:
I promise the oil leak under the car is from me changing out the cold start injector, and the side of the engine getting a bath in 87 octane.
Odd sideways hail damage?
What Texas has instead of rust:
PO could NOT wire a headunit.
Back seat is intact, but dirty. I haul my greyhounds around back there.
Temp gauge doesn't go much passed the second mark, fuel gauge plummets rapidly, and the oil pressure gauge doesn't work. I think the PO hooked the sender up wrong and shorted it.
Yup, Texas sun.
Underside, I coated it liberally in a rust inhibitor.
Ok, so a little more rust. The cheap muffler the PO had installed rusted out.
Engine bay. Emissions equipment partially removed.
$3800 obo gets it out of my driveway and into yours!
EDIT: Oh I forgot, the driver's mirror vibrates.
- 168k on the body
- Unknown amount on the 2FE (3FE head on a 2F block), but it had good compression when I bought it.
- Year-old 33x12.5x15 BFG's
- All fluids changed last spring (diffs, transfercase, transmission, etc)
- If I called it rust free, somebody would point to some rust and be like "What else are you hiding?!" so I'm going to just say that it's from Texas, and has so far only spent one winter here, and that I washed it every other fillup.
- I wouldn't say it's hard to start, but sometimes it takes a few seconds of turning over to come alive.
- Interior is in fair shape, dash is cracked, driver's seat is torn, there's a cigerette burn in the back seat, and the rear carpet is gone.
- Has the traditional "cruiser weeping" from the engine. Haven't noticed a decrease in oil level ever, though.
