2F Toyota Propane Forklift Engine

The Toyota forklift I used to operate was dual fuel from the factory. I never really looked at the engine, it was a smaller forklift so it might not have been a 2F.

When I bought my 81 FJ40, it was stored at the POs brother's shop and he was a Toyota forklift dealer. He told me that my 2F was the exact same motor in his forklifts and that the propane conversion kit was a simple, bolt on swap except for finding a place to mount a propane tank.

I worked as an equip mechanic for a short while and we had them before I was into cruisers. Ours ran propane or gas. A good place to see em would be the local equip rental like hertz or sunbelt

even better they will have the parts manual and will order your parts for you with a small mark up--unless you rent equip that is

I coulda swore this had propane when it went out?!:lol:

I have been talking to a Toyota Fork Lift mechanic about some carb issues and he says the 2f are the same as what is in my 40.

He also said that he has never seen a 2 bbl Aisin carb so that leads me to believe that at least most of the propane setups were through a 1bbl carb.

Just a few more bits of info.
