Could i put in a 2F engine into a 4 speed transmission which has a 3b diesel engine? What conversions do i have to do?

if the question is, are the 4 speeds the same for 3B and 2F? the answer is NO. the input shafts are different, and so is the bellhousing.

2f swap

I am running a 3B engine with 4 speed transmission and would want to replace it with a 2F Would it be possible to put in a 2f bellhousing to fit the existing transmission and change the input shaft to fit 2f?

it's all doable......just not cost effective

My 40 was originally a BJ, I decided to dump the stinky diesel and replace it with the bulletproof 2F
The modification involved the following;;
1. The diesel engine mountings (rivetted to the chassis) have to be removed, moved and replaced with 2F engine mounts - mounted much further forward.
2. You must get a 2F gearbox bellhousing
3. You must get a 2F gearbox input shaft
4. Another thing to consider is - the later model 40's cogbox mountings were an a chassis crossmember and earlier 40's had mountings on the side of the bellhousing.
Mine (B diesel) had the crossmember mounts, which I changed to the bellhousing mounts.

Remove the B/3B cogbox input shaft and bell housing and replace with above.

Other than the above mods the two cogboxes are the same.
