My 40 was originally a BJ, I decided to dump the stinky diesel and replace it with the bulletproof 2F
The modification involved the following;;
1. The diesel engine mountings (rivetted to the chassis) have to be removed, moved and replaced with 2F engine mounts - mounted much further forward.
2. You must get a 2F gearbox bellhousing
3. You must get a 2F gearbox input shaft
4. Another thing to consider is - the later model 40's cogbox mountings were an a chassis crossmember and earlier 40's had mountings on the side of the bellhousing.
Mine (B diesel) had the crossmember mounts, which I changed to the bellhousing mounts.
Remove the B/3B cogbox input shaft and bell housing and replace with above.
Other than the above mods the two cogboxes are the same.
