peace of mind

good deal ---best to have the peace of mind and know it's 100 percent
who wants to worry when they just did a rebuild eh?:)

I just don't get why the plastigauge didnt show this. The zero clearance is right where I put the plastigauge and got .0015.

The machine shop checked the rods and found that they were egg shaped. Resized the rods and replaced the bearings. Assembled it yesterday and the clearances checked out and I had thrust clearance. Engine turns over easy.

Because this engine was running before. I can only speculate that the rods were not resized properly before and that whoever assembled it before modified the rod bearings to make it work.

Anyway, the bottom end is back together.

Thanks for all the input and help in chasing this down.

Brian
