295/70/r18 on stock suspension. I know it will rub but how bad?

So my lc200 will be shipped out to get a lot of work done. Including a 3 inch lift and I’ll be going with 295/70 tires. I will be flying back and driving home but will be hitting some trails in the Ozarks on my way back to Florida and don’t want to carry 4 285/65 ko2s back home. I’m trying to determine if I could put on 295/70 to drive 30 miles home with minimum rubbing (like full turns) This is a mute point if I find anyone in Missouri that would be interested in a set of k02s with sub 1k miles on them but that’s a different topic.

Thx for the help

I’m not too familiar with KDSS, but the bracket on the driver’s side will be the limiting factor. If you hit that thing, you’ll have to relocate it.

What wheel offset will you be running?

Some more info would help.

17s or 18s? Offset?

OEM wheel with no spacer? That seems optimistic at best without some help.

(I’ll triple down with the posts above, without knowing offset, no one can really help)

I appreciate the responses. It just the stock he wheels. I think it would be okay to ease it home and park it if I had spacers but I won’t until the install. I’m just going to ship the tires with the lc200.

275/70/18 is the largest you’ll be able to run without spacers. Anything bigger without spacers will put you in contact with the upper control arm.

I’m running 305/70/18 on your wheels with 1.25” spacers; however, I don’t have that kdss bracket on the driver side that I mentioned earlier. Not sure when you’ll start contacting that thing.

295/70/18 at 34.6" x 11.7" would be a holy grail tire in some ways for the LC200. Not that it can't be done but it takes more work and mods than most want to do with the benefit of time. Glad to see you're looking to do that. But sorry to say it's not going to drop in for temporary use.

Check out my build thread in my link. The tire size is very similar in overall size of the 35x12.5 tires I run. I've done it for the LX, but you'll need to do most of it similarly for the LC. Plus resolving the KDSS bar as @radman points out.

With a 3" lift anything short of a 34" is going to look small so i can see where you are going.

Taking that path however you will need to do a lot more planning.
KDSS relocation, lower offset wheels, and an alignment before i would ever consider it road worthy personally even short distance.
At that point it will probably still rub fender liners / splash guards / air dams but you could at least feel safe.

What is the "other work" that will be done? I wouldnt drive it before a diff drop either.

Maybe post in classifieds your KO2s for sale in southern MO / NWA. Surely that's a pretty popular size for 100/200 series. Depending on "how much" you don't want to carry them back, I'm sure you can get rid of them.

Trying to read between the lines, I assume your preferred option is to get the 295/70R18 mounted and then get the truck to whoever is shipping it to Ozark Overland? I think you'll have trouble getting them mounted without spacers to clear the UCA. If you can get those, the worst case you could have it towed to the shipper. Your new bumper install will probably take care of the front wheel liners, but you will still have to deal with behind the tire.

Also, I'm not sure how KDSS will be affecting you. There are definitely a few threads on the topic. Strangely, only guys who don't have KDSS have responded to your thread so far. Guys who don't have to deal with the KDSS location are all quick to recommending getting to 35s, haha.

suspension with diff drop kdss relocation, bump stops, front arb and slee rear bumper, sliders, spacers, roof rack, long range fuel, skids etc. Ozark overland outfitters is doing all the work and what I’ve read he knows what he is doing when it comes to building land cruisers. Everything has been shipped there, I can just get tires local at a really could price and was trying to save space on the trip home.

I am thinking about going to an aftermarket wheel now with only the factory front spacer so that I can ditch the wheel spacers I am currently running. That way when it comes time to lift it I can run that exact size tire and keep the wheels. I have to admit, I am getting more and more tempted by a 17" wheel with a +/- 0mm offset with a lift for a more aggressive look but it'll come at the expense of a lot of other work and trade offs.

I can tell you from experience a 295/70/18 (Toyo MT in my case) will not work without KDSS relocation or Tundra Conversion. I was running a +25 and it was into the bar by several inches.

If you haven't had the suspension work done yet I would suggest going Tundra. This solves all your problems.

Isn't TC coming out with a full kit (uppers and lowers) for the 200 that gives it similar specs to a Tundra conversion? I thought I remember them posting about it on @IG not too long ago, looked pretty much like a full on LT kit.

I mean you could use a TC Tundra LT kit. You would just need to ditch your fenders.

Still holding out for glass fenders one day.

But yeah you could go TC Tundra factory length upper and lower arms if you wanted. The only thing "out of spec" would be the KDSS mount but I don't see that as a problem.
