Yes, another tire thread. I have needed new tires for some time now and was looking to upgrade and find a balance between drivability and mild off road capability. I use my 100 for a variety of things like family vacations, towing my 4runner, mild off road adventures(like 100s in the hills, Mohave Rd, Anza Borrego, etc.) and just any time I want to spoil myself. I wanted a D load range in whatever I got as I think E load range would be overkill and anything less would not be tough enough. I also knew I wanted a semi aggressive a/t with good road manners. I first thought I would get the 285 size in an all terrain since a lot of members here run that size and like it so I bought a set of 285/75R16 nitto terra grapplers roughly a 33 and mounted them on my stock 16s. I liked the look and ground clearance but was annoyed with the bit of extra noise and I could also feel the noticeable loss of power and decided they were just a bit too big and heavy for my needs and luckily found a buddy to buy them from me.

Now the only size to really choose from to try and find some middle ground becomes the 265/75R16. Most in this size are E rated or A-B and I found the measurements vary for circumference and tread width however the Yokohama Geolandar AT/S stood out since it was one of the only D rated tires in that size but also was 31.9 inches around which puts it at a 32 in my book(stock is closer to a 31) and also has a decent tread width so doesn't look too skinny. Well that's what I got and couldn't be happier. Some noise(slight increase over stock Michelins) but not like the nittos and I got most of the power back. I think they look pretty good too. Much better than the "bubbly" stock size of 275/70R16. Also since they have a 65 psi max I can air them up a bit for towing.
