I am new to the Land Cruiser family and have ordered a set of Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's in 285/75/R16. Are these tires going to fit on my 1997 rig without a lift? Will this setup with the stock rims cause any rubbing issues? I tried to do a search but could not find the answer. Thanks in advance for your help.

thanks for the information. I wiil check it out.

u need body lift ,and wheel spacers 30mm

I have Cooper STT in that dimension, and a new set of 2" OME springs and shocks. They are on the stock 7x16 alu rims. Tires barely touch the upper control arm sometimes, and rub quite hard on the mud flaps and frame when cornering.

Iwill fit wheel spacers soon (1,25") which will help on the control arm and frame, but will get worse on the mud flaps and flange behind it. So that will need a bit of reworking. It will also look better with the spacers as the wheels now are a bit inside the fender flares.

On my old KDJ95 i ran Goodyear mt/r in 285/75R16 on 16x8" rims ET 0mm. With reworked front mud flaps, and 2" ome lift it only rubbed mildly on full turn with compression on front springs. (offroad, or braking while doing hard manouvering at low speed).

I ran the same tire w/o a lift, spacers, body lift and absolutely no issues. Search here in the 80's section. You'll find lots of threads about 285's and whether you need a lift or not.

since when do 33s not fit without a lift?? you shouldn't have a problem with these tires and stock suspension unless the suspension is shot and saggy.

I had the Dueler Revo AT's in 285/75/16 and all four separated on me between 15k and 28k. Still had half tread on the last ones when the separated. I would recommend a different tire for that reason. I have Hancock and Yokohama Geolanders on my two vehicles and much happier with them. Had Wrangler ATS and they held up good, no sidewall punctures or flats for over 45k. I have a lift on my LC but there are a lot of articles that say the 285's will fit no problem.

I am currently running Cooper STs in this size with a stock non-lifted truck. No issues, no rubbing.

If it's a FJ80 you should have no problems...

I have no lift on mine and with additional weight i'm still not rubbing...

If your rig is a road rig, then pushing the tires out looks better (matter of opinion) and may offer stability. For wheeling on stock suspension, you want them in so that they tuck under the fenders at flex and don't destroy your sheet metal.

True dat.

First of all, an 80 series in a stock suspension will run all manner of 33" tire from 255s to 285s and 295s all the way to 305s without any issue. Perhaps 305s may rub a bit when new, I ran a pair at 50% and never had any rubbing with full flex.

Just got these Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 285/75r16’s. Great ride, quiet tires. Plan to install 2.5” lift in a few weeks.
