No.. It works out to be about 3.9485800060422961(in other words not a big deal) with the factory 4.11's if your motor runs well It will pull it just fine.. You just won't have that same snap off the line and you'll cruise at 75 MPH at a slightly lower rpm.. If you have money to through at it you could go to 4.30 This keeps all your gearing, ABS and speedo very close to stock. I would really not go to any larger tire without changing Ring and pinion. It really comes down to what you plan to do with your rig. I have had some extreme buggies, spending thousands and my stock Lx has taken me places that I had to stop and scratch my head... My advise is learn your truck pick a good line and you will go places that you really won't believe. Hope this helps!

i didn't know they 4.30 gears. where can i find some? i like to hit up trails here in california. places which are close to the rubicon, not hardcore like rubicon, but places rates 6 or 7 out of 10. ie slickrock, deer valley, etc. i'm planning on putting a lift and 315s later.

The closest you may be able to find for Toyota's is 4.56 which will work great for 315s / 35" you can also try try the links below. You also, can always call slee offroad those guys have forgotten more than I know... If I weren't so ambitious about building my own lift, their 6" lift kit is very well done and great bang for the buck. Remember the bigger the tire the smaller the whole:hillbilly:

Goodyear MTR 285/75R16 here. I had the tires for a year before I put on the lift. No rub at all.

I rubbed in the front without a lift a lot and I still rub on occasion with an OME 2.5" and 285/75/16's. I've got new bumpstops in the front too, so they more than likely aren't overcompressing because of age.

I just put 285/75R16 Revos on my no lift rig and have had no problems. I kinda like the slight rubber overdrive.

Looking like a posible trip to a sandy place.

For a year...

Away from the 80.

Looking at just doing sliders, 4x4 labs rear and 33-34" tires for now... maybe lockers too ..Want to leave it as a posible bad day winter vehicle for my SO untill I get back. Then its going to become a 3 linked, coil over trail rig on 37"s. I might also do a used conventional lift and the 37" then do the three linking and coil overs when I get back.. argh

I conquer with the comments above. I am running on Kumho AT 285/75/16. They fit really fine :).

On the second thought I even thought about 35' - 80 looks on them really cool .
