Will they fit on the stock wheels? Anyone tried?

The'll fit but the rims maybe smaller width then whats recommended to mount them.
Most companies say 6.5" to 8" for them .
With a trailer it shouldnt matter . How many people do you know run 33x12.5s on the stock cruiser rims for years ?

Good point. As long as they fit and don't rub, that's about all I need. I don't put more than 1,000 miles/year on the trailer anyway. Thanks, Todd.

IMO they will rub with stock suspension configuration.

they might rub...29s to 33s is only a 2" increase on each side. i wouldnt be too concerned about the width either...10" wide tire (less at the beads) on a 5" wide wheel shouldnt be an issue for light duty trailer use. on the stock setup, it might be ok. if its a bit too close for comfort, just do a spring over. its easy, and no other parts are needed except for a couple spacers and longer bolts for the ebrake cables. otherwise, it can be knocked out in an hour.

the suspension doesnt really flex...unless youve taken out some leafs.

lotsa room. this is a stock setup

Or other then doing a spring over (maybe too much then your looking for )you can also make longer shackles

Hmmm. Do you think they'll rub only when the suspension is flexed or just any time? I definitely don't want them to rub.

At worth you will need bump stop, but my guess is that they won't constantly rub, I have 31" and about 2" 2 1/2" to spare to the back or front of the fender. What might happen is if you hit a good bump and the trailer is really loaded you will wrip the fender and scrap a tire has the thread will hit the start of the fender. So you will need to cut the verticale section of the fender and you should be ok.

Hey, I just bought a 1/4ton military trailer to build a "camping trailer" I am having an issue as to what size tire to go with since the Military 7.0 x 16 tires that are on it are original and 30 years old.

the actual military tire measures out at 30" tall and about 7 inches wide. I was thinking about a 245/75/16, but wanted to check with you all here on Mud before I make the dec. THanks in advance.

I like narrow tires.. they pull easier, and cut through snow better, also will pick up less nails..
You can upgrade to 235/85r/16 or stay with the smaller 215/85r16.. the 235s are easy to come buy every tire shop will have lotsa inventory. the 215 are available, but may have to be ordered. same hight as the 245 75 16, but narrower. they will fit nice on th rims and will not be to wide. they are almost always ten ply, great capacity.

I have 245/75R/16 Goodyear wrangler MT's mounted on the stock m416 rims. I have used this combo for 12 years and have no rubbing or problems what so ever.

THanks for the help. I will make a phone call to the local tire shop tom. Thanks again for the help.

I have some CDN M101 threads on here with 235/ 85-16s on stock toyo split rims on my trailer and looks great, I just need to widen the fenders now since the back spacing is diff between these rims.

Here's BFG AT 235/85/R16s on a stock M101 trailer. I think 255s will fit with a SOA but will stick outside the fenders a bit.

Not hooked up to my new Taco  but this will give a bit of a comparison between the 235s and 245/75/R16s
