Not as nervous as I was driving it at 60 mph down the freeway.

All good - Jim - she is great and in fantastic condition - so far everyone very impressed.

• Clutch could use a little adjustment
• I'll need to move the seat further back due to dodgy right leg
• The fellas at the freight company loved it compared to the Mustangs and old ford utility that came in the same shipment.
• The Disc Brakes sticker - isn't in great shape

We gave her a jump start and I drove off about 60kms across town where she now gets her Road Worthy Certificate and then to Vicroads to be registered.

Big Smiles on my face . I guess she is no longer on the move - now at her new home.

Are we road worthy yet? If they don't give you a certificate you'll have to use it exclusively off road.

Let me get this right, it sits for a week to be sure it's road worthy, but they let you drive it there????

show how different things work over here....

We can ring the rego department (vicroads) and get a 24 hr or 1 week permit, that allows us to drive on all roads during business hours, only to drive the car to a workshop or home so that work "roadworthy" repairs can be under taken.

You dont have a system like this over there?
Once all repairs have been done then a certificate of roadworthy is issused (RWC), then the car can be plated, some states require yearly RWC inspections to stay on the road, in Victoria the police do on the spot (side of the road) inspections, and if 3 or more items are found un-RWC it gets a defective notice sticker put on the screen, and is logged on the Vicroad data base as un-RWC, only way to have this removed is a full RWC inspection and a new RWC issued.

Keeps the old and tired looking cars up to scatch..

It sat for a week waiting for quartantine to clear it and then I drove it across town to my mechanic who is the licensed Road Worthy Tester. I am doing a little contra work for him - It should be done this week - just a few rules around its age that are holding it up - I think the front bumper might be an issue. - I have a spare sitting next door (In the panel beaters) waiting to go on my 40 so there might be a quick swap to pass the road worthy and then swap back.

To get it from place to place I have been issued a permit, but it only allows me to drive it to mechanics and such in an effort to get it registered. Pretty good though to drive down the automated Tollways with no licence plates.

Once I have the certificate I can then drive it to Vicroads to have it inspected and registered. It is considered a High Risk inspection as it has never been registered here - so they will crawl over it making sure it meets the standard - but I don't think there will be too many problems. They are more concerned with highly modified vehicles.

Not too much of a drama so far I didn't expect to really be able to take it out till August - so we are still on track and it has been cold here - Not cold like CT but cold for Melbourne.

Nice one Cammo - Spot on I got a permit for a month and as stated above it will go through a full inspection which means fine tooth comb and confirmation of all VIN and Engine numbers, checking oil leaks, brakes etc.

I can pick a repair or emissions permit off the internet in Arizona. Just date if for the days I want. I have picked up a travel permit to flat tow a old cruiser from Washington State back to Arizona. Print it off at home and cost a dollar. Real easy to do and why risk a ticket for a dollar.

At first I thought they just reversed the image until I realized the mirror would be in his face. Need to raise the bar on the talent search..........can confirm that singing over the road noise of that truck is an acquired skill.
