I've recently rebuilt my Warn 8274 24v winch. I pulled it out a year ago and made the mistake of taking insufficient pictures. During the week I hope I can get it installed but forget how the positive and negative wires went.

Positive was never removed from the winch so I know that all I need to do is hook it straight to 24v power from my batteries. It's the negative I forget how it went. Am I correct in thinking that one end of the ground will attach to the low side negative terminal of the battery while the other end will attach to one of the mounting bolts of the winch motor?

That is the way the earlier models handled it. Later ones have a threaded lug on the motor case for the ground cable.
