Wanted 22re pickup 4wd, 5 speed, a/c

I've been having terrible luck finding one. I've been looking for at least 6 months. I refresh my Craigslist app a few times a day and see them within a few hours of them being posted.

In WI/IL they either have rusted out frames for $500 otherwise they have a decent frame with mildly rusted body, listed on Craigslist $1500, and barely last 5 hours before they are sold. I've lost out on a few already.

I'm willing to travel and drive one back or trailer the right one.

How is the market in other places in the country? These things are harder to find than fj40s and 60/80 cruisers.

Yeah saw that one. Nice truck. Little pricey for my budget. I just need a beater truck for hauling stuff in the bed.

That's a hell of deal. 22RE w/ 5speed? That would have lasted about an hour around me. The Mexicans' and Central Americans' buy them and send them over the border on a regular. I will not sell to them purely for that reason.

Yep 22re, 5spd, p/s, no a/c. Bed and doors have some rust and the passenger rear frame needs some reinforcing at the front leaf mount.

I'll probably be pulling the bed, media blasting, welding, and por 15 the rear frame areas.

The timing chain wore through the front cover so I ended up getting a street rv head, throwing in new main and rod bearings, all new front components and a new clutch.

The guy posted it on Craigslist at 730am and as usual, by 930 a guy was already on the way to get it/look at it.

I sent him a desperation email and told him to hold out and not take any lowball offers. He did, and at noon told me the guy didn't want it. I left with my trailer and 3 hours later picked it up.

Oil was a milkshake which led me to replace everything I did. I'd like to find a/c parts and swap those in too next spring.

Let me guess....the driver's side rear bed has a nice rot spot right above where the exhaust dumps out? That's due to the condensation from the exhaust.

That thing is screaming for a solid axle swap.
