Hello can anyone help me out on a problem I cannot seem to wrap my head around. I have a 1988 toyota pickup with the 22re engine in it. when you get in the truck and run it down the road then come back to park it, it smells like gas coming from the engine. I am confused as to what it could be thinking it may be injectors and possible cold start injector but i do not know.

Be careful with that.
If its the Fuel Pulsation Dampner, with the little screw under the plastic cap, on the fuel rail oppisite the FPR, it can leak. On the 4Runners, it drips onto the exhaust and causes fires.
If its leaking or the screw is out, replace it. not user serviceable, screw is set at factory.

Might sound silly but make sure your gas cap is functioning and on tight. Itll fill the cab with gas fumes if not.
gas gap or check valve too
or a rotten fuel line look for simple stuff first ......
