A friend of mine at work has a 2000 LX470, like mine, and is running 22" rims. I think it looks pretty good, but will probably never see mud. Here are a few photos.

I'd like to get the same wheels in an 18" because the offset looks pretty damn good.

I wasn't a big fan of the wheel size. 22" IMHO looks out of scale. But the wheel itself is what I was trying to point out. In a 18" size, this might look pretty good.

I'm sorta old school hot rod style, because I love the look of the recessed lip around the rim.

OP likes the style a in 18"... an appropriate diameter for this truck.

gholsie this forum is about posing.... expedition posing. So if you dont have LC or tundra wheels, or better yet steelies from a third world Land Cruiser, you will be mocked.

A legit concern would be strength (even in 18") should you choose to off-road your cruiser. I'm not a huge fan of stock LC/LX wheels so I can embrace your desire for something easier to clean and that look good. I say go for it if they appeal to you.

Actually this forum is supposed to be about tech relating to 100 series land cruisers and lx 470's. it just happens to be over populated with posers as of late. For example this thread

Do you even post tech related information? Or do you just piss in everyone's corn flakes all day to make yourself feel better?

To the OP: I'm not a fan of aftermarket rims but I have a number of friends who are and, if pulled off properly, they can make a vehicle look really good. I think 18" with a nice sized tire could look nice.

To the forum: Not everyone likes the overland or offroad image. How about helping the guy instead of chastising him?

Here's my aftermarket wheels, but in a 16". 3 piece jaos wheels. It has a recessed lip and good offset

some of the posts above were pretty close to trolling if not there already, IMO. If TM hadn't already said something, I would have probably zapped a couple. Yup, it's that time of the month, so let's be cool everybody... :D

Haha, you guys crack me up. I also run a pretty busy forum for old Datsun Zcars (shameless plug warning) http://www.classiczcars.com ... We have the same issue with forum regulars who set the overall 'mood' of the site. It's all part of running a great site. In fact, I know this forum is well respected because I recently approached a local guy (selling ONE of his LC's) and asked him where to find local shops... he said "oh, go and check ih8mud.com because those guys have everything you'll need for this ride" And that was here in BFE Oregon (Albany/Eugene to be exact). Anyway, just wanted to say this site is great. This is the place to come if you want to ask questions for sure. (Just not about 22" rims... I kinda figured that might stir up some of the woodland people.)

On a serious note, I just don't like the stock wheels Toyota puts out for these rides. I definitely don't want 20 or 22" rims, but, I would like some deep(er) dish wheels. Stock wheels are just too far inset (my opinion of course)... I've seen a few 5 spoke wheels posted on the site from a year or so ago... let me see if I can find them.

I guess I'm the odd ball in this thread...but I like them. If you look at all the other after market rims, they all look terrible. I like the brushed aluminum look. Throw a 1" AHC lift and some Nitto Terra Graplers on and I think you would have a great looking 100. They wouldn't last 5 minutes on my 100, but these aren't "drug dealer" or "pimp" rims in my eyes. I'm getting pretty tired of the single mindedness of this forum, if it's not expedition worthy it's garbage. Let's show some variety for god sakes...maybe another plasti-dip thread or three.

These are "drug dealer" and "pimp" rims.
