OK, I don't have mine yet. Hopefully, it will be on a boat soon. I chose anything that arrives in Silver, Earth, Incognito, or Nori Green.

I wanted to start this thread because I would like to share comments pre-ownership and thoughts on mods, improvements, etc.

Please jump in when you have a chance.

Thanks

Has anyone bought one of these? I see a bunch of them on the road. Chime in if you have one!

A bunch of members have them here.

The things three biggest things I didn't like on my 24 model: front ride height, no air compressor, and SL load rated tires.

25+ models fixed the ride height and the compressor issues.

I fixed those with MT64 suspension kit, installing the oem air compressor, and put on E-load Toyo AT3 tires in the next size up, 275-70r18.

Nice, thank you for the advice. I am interested to see what the ’26 has in store in relation to changes, I would expect none, but who knows?

I have one, it’s for sale haha. I’ve been working with Lexus on the GX 550 since 2022 and it’s a terrific platform. The “out of the box” off-road capability of the Overtrail trims are outstanding and far surpasses the stock offroad capabilities of the US spec 200series/LX570 while also maintaining a 9k+ lb towing capacity and similar payload capacity as a 200/570.

I have some nitpicks, but overall, zero major complaints. It truly is that good.

I just can’t bring myself to wheel it like I had planned. It’s abundantly clear that I could do an 80 series worth the damage to it pretty quickly. And I’ve got a few of those already.

Yessir, it sure is. Don't have it yet, awaiting delivery.
So long as you go in knowing it is no 200HE, you should be ok. If you want a true replacement and if you have the means, do yourself a favor and switch your deposit to a 2-row LX700 OT. I mean, you are already getting a Lexus. Just saying. ;)

Thanks for the advice. I drove it and I think it is a slug, drove the 600 as well. Same effect + I hate the hybrid thought. I also have a Grenadier and I am going to make it the off-roader and keep the GX as trails only with nothing super hairy; maybe skids, sliders, and that's about it.

We have one, but @BIC JET already knows that lol. So far, we love it. I have a few nitpicks, but nothing that hasn't already been mentioned in most threads and reviews.

Any idea what the largest size tire one can fit on the 25's stock with their higher front end?

Technically, the increased ride height on the 25+ models does not allow for larger tires compared to the 24s because the suspension still compresses to the same point. If you are not planning on off-roading, you might be able to run one size larger than the 24s without rubbing during normal daily driving, but that is about it.

A skinny 34 should fit on stock wheels, but max spare size is about 33.5"
A skinny 35 should fit with correct offset wheels.

These guys did a good video.

So a 275/70/18 is likely a safe bet.

OME / BP 64 IS A SAFE BET, THEN ADD THE 34+. Sorry, all caps, not yelling.

I can give you a proxy. My 2024 has 2025 springs and I have Falken AT4W LT285/70-18. Equivalent to 34 x 11.5s. Fit great, no rub even fully flexed/turning off road.

Discount tire test fit an AT4W LT in 35 x 11.5 for me and it rubbed when turning. Could it fit - yes, with a little work.

Factory OT Wheels.

Gratuitous climbing a rock. Had to show my son (blue Taco) the GX could play too.

Add on comment I lifted and did tires for belly clearance. 34’s would have fit my truck on the original 2024 springs. Springs only affect ride height on an IFS truck, but don’t change any geometry. I wanted 1” in ride height to go with ~3/4” of tire to get better belly clearance. From the factory my GX hit lots of rocks. While I still have to be deliberate on approach/departure and route, the incidence of rocks hitting the belly is much improved.

If you want a full size spare mounted underneath, that's the way to go.
With that size spare under mine, I can't fit my finger between the tire and panhard bar.

I ran 275/70/18 KO2s on my '24 stock height OT and they were perfect. No rubbing.

Had my 2025 GX550 Overtrail+ (Atomic Silver with black roof) for about 3 weeks now and I’m loving every moment.
Coming from JDM low cars, this is a completely new experience for me — and the quality, comfort, and presence are on another level.
No regrets at all. I absolutely love this truck.

I really like the silver. Struggling between Atomic Silver and Nori Green. Time will tell.
